Redness, sensitivity, or mild itchiness is normal and will settle within 48 hours. Your skin might “purge” a little, with breakouts or dryness. Be kind to your skin and follow our aftercare advice.

Here is everything you need to know before your waxing appointment:

• Pause all active skincare 7 days before your appointment to avoid irritation, peeling and/or chemical burns. This includes all physical and chemical exfoliants ie. lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid, and all retinols/retinoids.

• Avoid professional skin treatments for at least 7 days before your appointment. This includes treatments such as chemical peels, laser treatments and microdermabrasion.

• Waxing cannot go ahead if you are on accutane.

• We cannot wax if have recently been burnt by the sun or are visibly peeling.

Most people can! We don’t recommend it for those with active and wide spread acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, or certain medical conditions.

For 7 days before (and after) your appointment, avoid vitamin A, heavy sun exposure, chemical exfoliants, waxing, or shaving. Always wear SPF 30+ or 50+. Light scabs can sometimes appear — let them heal naturally.

Nope! Dermaplaning only removes peach fuzz, which doesn’t grow back thicker. If you have coarser hair in those hormonal areas ie. lip and chin, we can discuss waxing on the day but wouldn’t proceed to dermaplane over these areas.

Nope! Dermaplaning is painless and feels more like a gentle scraping. We actually find it to be quite therapeutic!

We recommend every 4–6 weeks to align with your skin’s natural renewal cycle and maintain that smooth, radiant glow.

No. Dermaplaning only removes fine vellus hair (peach fuzz), which grows back exactly the same texture and colour. This is because the vellus hair doesn’t grow deeper than the dermis layer of the skin/it is only surface level hair.

Yes! In fact, makeup glides on beautifully after dermaplaning. We suggest waiting a few hours if your skin feels a little sensitive, but most clients love applying makeup the next day.

• If you have allergies to nickel or steel.

• If you are taking blood thinners or medications that can affect platelet function or lead to haemorrhaging.

• If you are prone to skin cancers on the face or are currently undertaking chemo or radiotherapy.

• If you have a herpes, hepatitis or auto immune diagnosis.

• If you are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scarring.

Aside from achieving gorgeous glowing, smooth and perfect skin you may also notice an improvement in fine lines, acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. By removing the peach-fuzz and dead skin, this will allow for the new skin cells to regenerate and your skincare at home will work more effectively. Hence, resulting in better, more youthful skin!

If you have an event coming up and are thinking of having dermaplaning to get your skin in the best condition, then yes is the answer to a trial. If you have never had dermaplaning before, your skin may have a small purge and we don’t want this to happen the week of your event. Please trial dermaplaning at least 8 weeks out from your event.

We recommend having dermaplaning done a week before your event. This is to give your skin time to fully settle and be in the best condition come event day.
